Our
amnio test results should start trickling in any day now, and I am really anxious/eager to know what/if they found something.
After this initial round, if the genetics test does not pick up the subtleties of my sister's genetic results, called a microarray, then they will start growing the cells again, and then send out those samples for another round of more powerful testing.
Notice where the clump of dots breaks? That's the deletion in her DNA that is thought to be the cause of her major disabilities and health issues. For those of you who are medically-minded, the full test is called an Oligonucleotide array CGH analysis. Evidently, this exact test is not performed on fetus's, only people, so we will have a similar test, just not this one.
And now for something less scientific
This week it's the size of an onion... thank goodness it doesn't smell like one, tho!

ReplyDeletepraying for you guys that everything is fine. Keep thinking positively. Onions come in so many different sizes! How can you know how big of an onion to compare it to?? btw - you look amazing! Look at your big boobs and itty bitty waist! not for long..... :)
