In addition to determining the superiority of the "My Breast Friend" versus the "Boppy" for nursing, we have also made some progress in the feeding category.
After nursing for an hour at a time, my nipples were so sore they throbbed all the time. After discussing this with my pediatrician's lactation consultant, we determined that Nina was still sucking after she had emptied my breasts, and suggested I take her off after 20 minutes on each side, then supplement with formula or pumped milk if she seemed to still be hungry.
Hallelujah, I think we determined why she cries so much! (not to jinx anything, but progress is a good thing)
The poor baby has been starving to death! Seems her darling mother just doesn't make enough milk. But I am going to see what I can do to increase my supply.
Trying Fenugreek, but if you have other suggestions, I am willing to try!
